Rupert Jessop

Rupert Jessop is known for his idiosyncratic installations using abstract premise to discus social group emotion and the evolution of social hierarchy.

He works with different media, from mixed media costume to sound works through photography and video, sometimes fusing them all in a complete installation that creates the illusion of an alternative world. His installations feature scenarios of the artist’s own invention with flavours of existing personalities and emotion. He mixes facts and fictives in interesting ways avoiding a didactic approach but creating an alternative vantage point.
